Super Rare was one of the most popular features in the Retrogames magazine. Eventually this section will include many exotic machines and peripherals. If you have a very unusual console or computer and can supply a photo, email us and let us know.
Bandai TV Jack 1200 This was part of a whole series of TV Jack machines only released in Japan between 1983 and 1985. This one is a simply Pong style TV Game, but the last machine in the range, the Jack 5000, used cartridge based games using the PC50 format, the same as UK Acetronic and Prinztronic consoles.
Othello Multivision It is hard to imagine now, but back in 1983 Othello was big news, with several dedicated consoles including Nintendo’s super rare Computer. Tsukuda licenced the technology from Sega’s SG-1000, and even included the cartridge port, making the Multivision a fully fledged compatible.
Coca Cola Game Gear The Japanese get all the coolest stuff. Released in 1989, this Game Gear is the bright red Coca Cola version. It came in its own box set and even included a Coca Cola themed skateboarding game. Keep your eyes peeled for the limited edition Vimto Super Famicom!
Sharp Famicom Titler You can’t help feeling that with this console, Sharp over reached themselves. This is primarily a Video Titling machine, allowing you add credits to home videos. For some strange reason, Sharp decided to it needed a built in Nintendo Famicom. Very rare console, value £300 - £600
