Welcome to the home of Handhelds
If it is electronic but doesn’t plug into a TV, then this is the section of Retrogames where you will find what you are looking for. LED Handhelds and tabletops covers the electronic games with screens made up of lights (LEDs), while LCD or Liquid Crystal display games are listed under LCD Handhelds. Game & Watch, Calculator and Electronic Chess sections are self explanatory, while Other Electronic covers electronic toys and board games. If you want more information on what kinds of electronic games there are, then click Guide to handhelds, for some helpful information.

Game & Watch Directory
The ever growing popularity of Nintendo Game & Watch led to us publishing our first Game & Watch directory back in 1998, but issue 22 includes a fully updated directory including release dates, prices, and variations in design. You’ll also find a basic guide to the different types of Game & Watch by clicking the Guide to Handhelds on the right.

Which Game Is Best

While there is lots of discussion between collectors about the rarest handheld games, you don’t have to blow a four figure sum to find something fun to play. Handheld Space games like Galaxy Invader 1000, or Astro Wars offer far more fun than anything on the Adventurevision. And it’s just as much fun playing the standard Climber G&W as the rare Crystal screen version. Remember, the reason some games aren’t as rare, is because they sold far better, because they were great to play.
