Amidar by Gakken / Konami - Boxed 1982 RARE Tabletop crazy painter game. This game features a large multi-coloured display, and large flip up screen. This is the much nicer Gakken version, rather than the more common CGL brand, and features style cartoon decals on the casing.
This example of the game is in Excellent, fully tested condition. There is a postcode written in faint pen on the front - I think as a security tag in case it was stolen - it's not very noticeable, overall 8/10. Screen is bright, sound is loud and controls are responsive. Outer decals looks great. Includes instructions on base, separate original manual - though it is scruffy - and battery cover.
Outer box is pretty nice, holding together well with no damaged flaps, 8/10. Includes both poly inners.
LED Electronic games dominated the toy industry between 1977 and 1983. They use light emitting diodes to create displays made of lights. Later LED games use vacuum formed displays, which allow detailed coloured sprites to be animated on-screen. Today handheld and tabletop games rank amongst the most valuable and collectible retro game formats.
