Odyssey 1 Console by Magnavox
1972 SUPER RARE Console. Yes, finally we have one in stock! This is the legendary first ever games console, created in 1972 by Ralph Baer, grandfather of all videogaming. With game cartridges offering variations on sports and pong games, the console sold just 350k units before it was discontinued in 1975.

There are so many firsts within this console - the first game controllers, the first screen overlays, the first computerized board game, the first Pong game you could play at home on your TV. The Odyssey was only released in the USA, and while power is supplied by batteries, this is an NTSC machine, requiring a suitable RF antenna adaptor or imported television to operate.

This example is unboxed but seems otherwise complete. Unusual for this primarily white machine, this example has not faded or blemished over the decades, the controllers are clean too, still with the original shine to their inlayed wood style panels. Overall we would say 8/10 condition, which is about as good as you will find for this machine.

The set includes the screen overlays which you were meant to actually stick to the TV screen with tape. Money and counter sets with dice, TV Connection cord and separate boxed TV antenna switch. Also includes all six game cartridges, roulette game board, unused game sticker sheet, home visitor pop up score board, States study map and answer booklet, original console manuals and inspection card. Amazing!
